People have been enjoying beer since the beginning of time.
So it’s only natural that gifts for beer lovers are one of our most popular product lines. They make great groomsmen gifts and fit dozens of other occasions as well.
Some 6,000 years ago the Sumerians supposedly discovered the brewing process for the “divine drink” that made them feel “exhilarated, wonderful, and blissful.”
Ever since, beer has been a big part of nearly every culture on Earth.
Today people love their beer and have even started the practice of holding weddings or receptions in breweries.
Americans consume over 6 billion gallons of beer a year.
Let that soak in for a minute.
Then realize beer is the drink of choice for watching a game, relaxing with friends, or celebrating a momentous occasion like a wedding or bachelor party.
Those Sumerians probably never realized how their discovery would lead to centuries of blissful good times.
Choosing the Right Gift for a Beer-Loving Friend
Isn’t it time you reward your drinking buddies for never leaving you to drink alone?
We think so, but picking a gift for a friend that goes beyond the pint glasses or a trip to the local brewery can be difficult for anyone.
The good news is we make it easier to select that perfect gift for your beer drinking friends.
Take a look at our comprehensive list of gifts that any beer connoisseur would love to claim as their own.
Hopsy SUB Home Tap and Mini-Kegs
This completely self-contained mini-keg fits on your countertop and lets you pour a pint of draft beer whenever you want.
Think of it like a Keurig Coffee Maker, but for beer. And not just any beer — they feature quality stuff like Sierra Nevada, Coronado, and Lagunitas.
Hopsy is able to contract directly with breweries rather than working through distributors. That means the beer comes out to be very reasonably priced.
There’s also lower transportation costs since the beer goes straight from the brewery to Hopsy to you.
Compare that to the normal model where beer goes to a distributor who sends it to another warehouse then out to a grocery store. In those cases the beer probably sits in a hot warehouse or on the shelves longer than is optimal.
How does it work? Simply pop a chilled 67oz Mini-Keg into the SUB, give it time to chill, and start pouring beer from the tap.
Once you’ve purchased the SUB through one of the starter kits like you see here, your only expense will be Mini-Kegs whenever you need them.
After your first batch of beer is gone, you can order Mini-Kegs individually or as 4 or 6-packs whenever you want more.
We’d also recommend checking out their Club. You can subscribe to regular deliveries based on how much beer you want, your taste preferences, and how often you want to receive it. With one of those plans you’ll save 25% on your keg prices.
But does it work?
Understandably, you might be skeptical that such a product can work as promised, but their 1,200+ reviews here seem to indicate that it’s for real. I haven’t had a chance to test one out yet, but I’ll give my unbiased review once I do.
Hopsy promises that their Mini-Kegs will stay fresh for 30 days prior to use and for 15 days once they’ve been tapped. So you don’t have to drink them in any hurry, though they do recommend that you keep them refrigerated prior to use.
Click here to check out the stupendously good intro offers that they’re currently running — you can pick up a SUB and your first four Mini-Kegs for only $79.99 plus shipping.
Don’t know much about beer but have a buddy who’s a Craft Beer Connoisseur? Treat him or her to a monthly craft beer subscription like the 5 options available here at Beer Of The Month Club and he’ll get a variety of top-quality beers delivered once a month.
And with code BEER15 you can save $15 on any prepaid order for 6+ shipments from the above link!
Or go with the Hop-Heads Beer Club for a variety of IPAs, IPLs, and the like. Code SAVE15 will save you $10 on any order of 4+ shipments.
Does your friend have a taste for extremely rare, hard to find beers? Check out their Rare Beer Club and use code SAVE10 for $10 any 4-shipment order.
Craft Beer Club is another good option for monthly beer deliveries – you can check them out here.
Their subscriptions work in a similar way to a Beer of the Month Club. Your friend (or you) will get a monthly shipment of beer from breweries you wouldn’t find at your local bottle shop.
However, Craft Beer Club offers a few more options. You can choose to get 24 beers rather than 12 in your shipment. And you can order anywhere from 1 to 12 shipments delivered monthly, every other month, or quarterly.
Also, you can take advantage of several bonus gifts depending on the number of shipments that you order. The details are visible here, and they include perks such as free coasters or cash back based on your order.
Another nice touch — since they only bill you at the time each shipment goes out, you don’t have to front a lot of money when you place your order.
Hint — if you browse around their site for long enough, you’ll probably see a popup window with some coupon codes you can use to save more money.
Bottle Keeper Beer Insulator
You know those cheap neoprene koozies you can get that keep your beer can or bottle colder longer?
Bottle Keepers feature durable stainless steel construction and great insulation similar to what you’d get with a Yeti. They will keep your beer cold and protected against breakage while letting you haul it around in a discreet manner.
There’s even a metal tooth on the screw-on lid that’ll allow you to use it as a bottle opener.
They’ve got them available in dozens of colors and designs, as well as multiple sizes. You can see them all right here.
You know how a 12oz Bud or Corona bottle is shaped a lot different than a Sierra Nevada bottle, which are both definitely different than a 22oz bomber bottle?
Bottle Keeper has products made to fit whatever size bottle that your preferred beer comes in.
And if you go through their custom shop here, you’ll be able to get each Bottle Keeper personalized for yourself or your groomsmen.
Home Brewing Kit
Why buy beer when you can make your own?
Fortunately, once you’ve got the equipment — and assuming you have some time to spare — it’s not too expensive or difficult to make your own beer.
All you need is a setup like one you see below (click here to buy it from Amazon), some empty bottles, and you’re all set.
Brewing isn’t a whole lot more difficult than steeping tea on the stove. Provided that you follow the directions and pay attention to sanitization you’ll have about 5 gallons of pretty good beer in 3-4 weeks.
Once you have the brewing kit, your ingredients for each subsequent batch should run about $40-60 for 5 gallons. Do the math, and you’re getting a bunch of good beer for $1 or $1.50 per pint.
If you want to start smaller, you can always go with something simpler like a 2-gallon Mr. Beer Kit available here on Amazon.
Get wisdom from such luminaries as Edgar Allan Poe, Tyrion Lannister, Frank Zappa, and Homer Simpson with these easy-to-carry bottle openers.
Another great gift idea for your beer-loving buddy, Craftsman Soap Company makes a line of all-natural beer soap available here.
The soaps smell fantastic since they use beer rather than water in the manufacturing process. They’re available in scents such as hefeweizen, IPA, and brown ale.
This one is along the same lines as the beer delivery service we mentioned above. A Shirts on Tap subscription will get your friend a monthly delivery of a quality t-shirt from a craft brewery in your city of choice.
Choose from San Diego, Portland, Seattle, or a handful of other options. Pick your size and shirt style, and you’re all set.
Each shipment will also include some combination of stickers and coupons for use at the respective breweries.
This set of .50 Caliber Coasters resembles the iconic .50 BMG round. They have realistic headstamps, rings, and primer “dents,” with foam feet on the reverse to protect your table or bar.
You’ll find L C 0 5 carved deep into the surface which signifies that the .50 caliber “bullet” is from the 2005 inventory out of Lake City munitions plant.
You can personalize each coaster on the reverse side with up to five lines and up to 25 characters per line.
They’re about 3.5 inches in diameter, and are 100% made and sourced in the U.S.A.
The Six Shooter Glass Pint is a replica of the classic Colt revolver cylinder. But it’s just a wee bit larger, at over 4″ tall and almost a pound and a half in weight
The glasses are CNC machined from anodized aluminum — that means they’re damn solid and hefty.
You can custom engrave each pint glass with up to 2 lines of text to add names, dates, or any other details.
We’ve covered our favorite tumblers and travel mugs thoroughly in this blog post.
But if you’re looking for the best option for drinking beer then we think this 20 ounce version with a monogram and up to two lines of custom text is the way to go.
30 ounces is more beer than most people will want to carry around at one time. And the 10 and 12 ounce versions are just a bit too small for most beer-related needs. So 20 ounces is just right.
It’ll hold a pint with room to spare, and the double-walled thermal insulation will keep your beer cold for hours — and keeps condensation off your table.
As with all of our products, they ship for free in the USA and have quantity discounts for orders of 4 or more.
The Black Barrel Beer Mug has a glossy black finish, thick insulated walls, and a convenient handle. It can hold 17oz and has a foam bottom to prevent scratching your tabletop.
Customize it with up to 3 lines of text, with up to 15 characters per line.
This bottle opener is a once-fired military grade ammunition casing and legit M33 projectile.
Shop here and add up to 3 lines with up to 25 characters per line on the bottle opener and up to 4 lines of text on the gift box.
These credit card bottle openers aren’t fancy by any means, but they get the job done. And they’ll slip easily into your friends’ wallets so they’re always handy.
Their durable steel construction makes them darn near indestructible.
Click the photo above for the monogrammed option, or click here to see a few other versions with custom artwork in addition to test.
Custom Beer Tap Handles for “That One Friend with the Kegerator”
The Brass .50 Caliber Beer Tap Handle is the real thing. It’s a once-fired .50 Caliber BMG casing and a legit M33 projectile, just like their .50 caliber bottle openers.
The threading cut into the primer pocket allows it to be screwed into standard beer taps.
This tap handle includes custom engraving in vertical text to mark your friend’s name or the type of beer. Like our other tap handles and our bottle openers, it’s 100% made in the USA
The 30 mm beer tap handle features a once fired black casing and a machined projectile. You might recognize it as the same round fired by the A-10 Warthog.
The handle is matte black with a gunmetal gray projectile. They’re almost a full foot long and weigh about a pound each.
With tap-friendly threading through the primer pocket, it’ll fit any standard tap.
Made in the U.S.A., it features custom engraving for your friend’s name or whatever type of beer he’s got on tap.
It doesn’t have to be difficult to find the perfect gifts for beer lovers, whether they love lagers or are hopheads.
Keep these unique beer-centric products in mind when the next wedding or birthday comes up!
